Ruby A. Neeson Diabetes Awareness Foundation, Inc.
Celebrating Seven Years of Community Outreach and Advocacy
Over a period of time, if not managed successfully, diabetes can cause the human body to function with problems such as a disturbance to the heart, kidneys, eyes and feet. Those with diabetes are at a higher risk for heart disease and joint deterioration. Diabetes also doubles the risk of cardiovascular disease.
While Ruby A. Neeson Diabetes Awareness Foundation, Inc. Diabetes Support Group focuses on non-clinical methods and approaches on the emotional and social aspects of diabetes, we also offers free diabetes self-management workshops. Our workshops provide the fundamentals of a skill-based approach to diabetes education; specifically to anchor expanding participants competence in the science and clinical approach to diabetes.
Those who wish to increase their knowledge of diabetes health and wellness, and learn information on other chronic diseases should attend the workshops.
