We enjoyed being part of Healthy Delight Cooking class with our community partners, JenCare Medical- West End Neighborhood Center. We believe healthy eating can reduce the burden of type 2 diabetes.
Healthy Delight Cooking class instructors prepared a delicious diabetic-friendly salad using simple ingredients of iceberg lettuce, parsley, fresh strawberries and blueberries and walnuts. The salad was drizzled with olive oil, vinegar and citrus.

A very special thanks to SDV USA Inc- Atlanta office for their generous donation of 97 pairs of socks to support our community service mission, 'Sock-It to-Diabetes. SDV is a global leader in freight forwarding services. The office staff and drivers all wanted to make a difference by collaborating to host a sock drive. 'Sock-It to Diabetes is a community service mission, collecting new socks to be distributed to those homeless, or in need affected by diabetes.

On World Diabetes Day 2014, November 14 we were excited to host, A Taste of Health, a nutrition and wellness exhibition showcasing the diversity of healthy eating. The event focused on nutrition within the older adult community, and the importance of preparing healthy, diabetic friendly meals and snacks. Guest were be treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Rolando "Ro" Cantrell.
We love Ms. Mary! She won the Go BLUE raffle. She looked so very lovely in her blue attire!

We were excited to spend time with a witty group of seniors as we presented an educational game of "diabetes" BINGO to raise awareness. This activity helped reinforce the importance of understanding diabetes risk factors, and other valuable information to enhance diabetes knowledge.

Most of all, almond milk barely impacts your blood sugar. Almond milk (with no additives) is low in carbs, which means it will not significantly increase your blood sugar levels.
